Toddlers are being forced to walk in the road from daycare because the Allen Street sidewalk is completely inaccessible with the tree root there. Convert a parking space and build the sidewalk around the trees please.

A bump out is a great idea, and the neighbors are hoping to get one. Four years ago, Allen Street was put on the city’s 5 Year Sidewalk and Street Reconstruction Plan. It’s under consideration for full “shared street” treatment, which would include bump outs like the one you are suggesting. Also, happy to say, the Rock & Roll teachers use the sidewalk on the other side of Allen St to safely reach the playground at Hope Fellowship Church.

Agree this is dangerous. There's a similar situation across the street, which means that parents with strollers are forced to walk in the road with their infants.
