Despite the conspicuous "Stop here on red" sign, a stop line was never painted on Williams Street last summer after the road was resurfaced. The recessed stop sign is instrumental in assisting large trucks making wide turns from Chestnut Street, as well as easing an abutter's access to a home garage.
